Super friendly and helpful staff from reception, to the wine tasting/sales area and through to the restaurant. The restaurant in particular deserves special mention as the food was much much better than our visit one year ago. The rooms are also quite luxurious without being ostentatious.
The restaurant sits on a hill overlooking the vineyards,plus the food is,delicious. I had the pork belly accompanied with a glass of merit,which was great. This is my view,as people do have different tastes, and expectations. I would give it a go
We stayed there two nights for the start of our honeymoon. Premium spa suite. Relaxing environment. Lovely sunset view that you could enjoy at the balcony. The restaurant is nice. We also have a nice complimentary bottle of sparkling wine. Very friendly and helpful staff. We found the bath with some spots on it. They took care of it. We were locked in the balcony and they came to rescue us quickly.Tips:Visit their cellar door. Friendly staff and good wine!Good restaurant delicious dishes.Cozy room but may expect old amenities.
I can't say enough about Balgownie Estate. I am really happy with the rooms and the facilities, especially the pool. The food at Rae's Restaurant was sublime and the staff at the Cellar Door were extremely helpful with picking a wine I was buying as a gift. I will definitely be adding this beautiful place to my very short "must visit again" list.
Stayed here as part of a work conference. Always enjoy visiting Victoria's different regions. Rooms were spacious and all appeared to have fabulous views of the beautifully landscaped grounds. Restaurant also enjoyed a stunning view of the Yarra Valley where you could see the hot air balloons land. All up, ticked all the boxes. Very enjoyable.
